Laser Printers

Laser printers use a different approach when printing than inkjet printers. They litterally burn the characters onto paper. The paper it self doesn't start to burn as laser printers have a device which controls so that doesn't happen. This is also a reason why it's so much more affordable to print with laser printers as the amount of ink from toners that gets burned onto paper is so minimal that you can expect up to 3 000 - 4 000 pages on one toner.

If you're going to be printing a lot of text documents than you must opt for a laser printer as it's a lot more economical that inkjet printers. Usually a page will cost you only a couple of cents per page. Also a important advantage of laser printers is their speed, while ink jets offer the advantage of color printing although recently a lot of very affordable color laser printers have emerged.

Laser printers also have the advantage over inkjet printers in printing speed. It's not unusual for laser printers to be balt to print more than 10 pages per minute. While initialy you might think that this isn't so important it just might be. I hate to wait for inkjet printers and easily get annoyed with them because of their slow printing (they have improved lately).

Color printers offer the lowest cost per page, the speed and they're extremely sharp especially when it comes to text documents. The drawback is that their price tag is higher than inkjet printers but if you're going to be printing a lot of text documents you'll save more money in the long run as the difference in price that you've paid for the laser printer will justify itself in the lower printing costs.

The other draw back (depending if you need it or not) is that laser printers only print in black & white. If you look at it realistically you might just realize that you don't need to print that many pictures and a laser printer might be more justified as it'll save you money in the long run. Recently color laser printers have dropped significantly in prices and should be considered if you don't mind paying a little bit more for everything a laser printer can offer you and in color as well.
